Simplist Salicylic Acid Face Wash is a daily foaming cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin. Salicylic Acid 2% is oil-soluble, so it follows sebum into the pore and loosens the plug of dead cells and oil that forms blackheads and pimples. Benzoyl Peroxide kills acne bacteria during the wash, while Zinc PCA calms excess oil between cleanses. The SLS-free, fragrance-free lather rinses clean and leaves skin matte from the first use. It opens an AM and PM routine as the rinse-off partner to the Salicylic Acid collection - see Face Wash vs Serum if you are deciding between the two.
Unclogs Pores at Every Wash: Salicylic Acid dissolves the sebum-and-dead-skin plug inside the follicle, releasing blackheads and clearing the blockage that triggers new pimples.
Fights Acne-Causing Bacteria: Benzoyl Peroxide releases oxygen inside the pore to kill C. acnes bacteria, the driver of inflamed breakouts - a separate action to the acid, so the wash targets both blockage and infection.
Controls Oil Without Stripping: Zinc PCA slows sebum output so skin stays matte for longer, while the SLS-free base cleanses without the tight feeling that pushes oily skin to make more oil. Less shine within 2 to 3 weeks.
Salicylic Acid 2%: A beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that is oil-soluble, so it works inside the pore, not just on the surface. At 2%, the maximum over-the-counter acne strength, it exfoliates in the follicle and loosens blackhead plugs at every wash. See 2% vs 5% compared for why this is the right home-use strength.
Benzoyl Peroxide: An antibacterial active that oxidises and kills C. acnes, the bacteria behind inflamed acne - a different pathway to the acid, so one clears the pore and the other removes the bacterial cause.
Zinc PCA: A sebum-regulating mineral that slows how fast pores refill with oil after cleansing, keeping skin balanced between washes.

pH: 6 to 7 | Free From: Fragrance, Paraben, SLS, Alcohol
Choose this wash if you have oily, combination, or acne-prone skin aged 15 and up with active breakouts, blackheads, excess oil, or clogged pores. As a rinse-off cleanser it is beginner-friendly and needs no adjustment period.
Go slow if your skin is sensitive or dry. Use it once daily at night for the first week and follow with a moisturiser, then add the morning wash in week two. Benzoyl Peroxide can bleach fabric, so rinse fully before your face touches towels.
Avoid this wash if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as it contains Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide - consult your doctor. An aspirin allergy is a contraindication. It is fragrance, paraben, SLS, and alcohol free at a skin-friendly pH of 6 to 7.
| Step | What To Do |
|---|---|
| STEP 1 | Wet your face with water. |
| STEP 2 | Apply a small amount and massage gently in circular motions for 30 to 60 seconds, avoiding the eye area. |
| STEP 3 | Rinse thoroughly with water and pat dry. |
| STEP 4 | Follow with serum and moisturiser. In the morning, finish with SPF 50. |
| When | AM and PM daily, as the first cleansing step. |
Best Paired With: the Salicylic Acid (BHA) 2% Exfoliant Toner a few nights a week. The wash rinses off after a short contact to clear daily oil, while the toner is a leave-on treatment that stays on skin to keep working in the pore. Use the toner PM only, after cleansing.
Avoid Combining With: strong leave-on exfoliants right after washing, such as an AHA or a second BHA on reactive skin - stacking exfoliating actives on freshly cleansed skin raises irritation and dryness. Alternate them across nights.
| Timeframe | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Skin feels cleaner, matte, and less oily right after each wash. |
| Week 2 to 3 | Fewer new breakouts and faster-resolving pimples. Blackheads look less prominent. |
| Week 4 to 6 | Visible breakout reduction and smoother, clearer skin with steady twice-daily use. |
| What Affects Results | Consistent AM and PM use, daily SPF, a moisturiser after, and a leave-on BHA partner. Stopping lets congestion rebuild. |
Yes. This wash clears pores with Salicylic Acid, kills acne-causing bacteria with Benzoyl Peroxide, and controls oil with Zinc PCA in one cleanser. Expect fewer breakouts in 2 to 3 weeks, with stronger results when paired with a leave-on BHA treatment.
Yes, morning and night. The SLS-free foaming formula is mild enough for twice-daily use on oily and acne-prone skin from day one. If your skin is sensitive or dry, start once daily at night and always follow with a moisturiser.
Use with caution. Start once daily at night with a moisturiser after, since Benzoyl Peroxide can cause dryness on reactive skin. The SLS-free base lowers stripping risk. Patch test on the jaw for 3 to 5 days before full-face use.
No, not without medical advice. This wash contains Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide, so pregnant or breastfeeding users should consult a doctor first. A gentle fragrance-free cleanser is usually the safer choice during this period.
The wash is a rinse-off cleanser that clears daily oil in a short contact time. The Salicylic Acid (BHA) 2% Exfoliant Toner is a leave-on treatment that stays on skin to keep working in the pore. Use the wash daily and the toner a few nights a week.
Yes, daily. Salicylic Acid increases sun sensitivity and sun worsens post-acne dark marks, which matters given UV levels of 10 and above in Pakistan from April to September. Always finish your morning routine with SPF 50.
