Simplist Retinol 0.5% Face Serum is a PM retinol serum that reduces fine lines and renews skin texture. Retinol is a Vitamin A derivative that speeds up cell turnover and stimulates collagen, so lines soften and texture refines over time. At 0.5% it sits between beginner strengths and prescription retinoids, and its oil base of Squalene eases the dryness most people expect. Built for adults 25+ with fine lines or early aging, it goes last in your night routine. See the full Retinol collection.
Reduces Fine Lines: Retinol renews cells and builds new collagen, softening lines around the eyes and forehead in 8 to 12 weeks of nightly use.
Renews Texture: Faster turnover sheds dull surface cells, so rough and uneven texture visibly smooths within 3 to 4 weeks.
Firms Skin: Retinol stimulates collagen and elastin in the dermis, building real firmness over months of use.
Retinol 0.5%: Retinol is a Vitamin A derivative that converts to retinoic acid to increase cell turnover and stimulate collagen. At 0.5% it is the highest effective strength for home use, with a 2 to 4 week adjustment as skin adapts.
Q10 (Ubiquinone): Q10 is an antioxidant that neutralises free radicals from UV and pollution, protecting the collagen Retinol rebuilds.
Squalene: Squalene is a skin-identical lipid forming this serum's oil base. It carries Retinol in a barrier-friendly carrier and cuts the water loss that leaves users feeling dry.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalene, Isododecane, Retinol, Q10, Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine, Tocopherol Acetate, BHT.
pH: 5 to 6 | Free From: Fragrance, Paraben, SLS, Alcohol
Choose this serum if you are 25 or older with fine lines, rough texture, dullness, or early loss of firmness. It suits all skin types wanting a consistent anti-aging active.
Go slow if you are new to Retinol or have sensitive or reactive skin. Start 2 to 3 nights per week for 4 weeks, then build up. Mild dryness or flaking in the first 2 weeks is normal purging - keep moisturising rather than stopping.
Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as Retinol is not safe during this time. Avoid broken or irritated skin, and do not use under 18. Fragrance, paraben, SLS, and alcohol free at pH 5 to 6.
| Step | What To Do |
|---|---|
| STEP 1 | Cleanse with Gentle Skin Cleanser and pat dry. |
| STEP 2 | Apply 2 to 3 drops evenly as the last serum step, after any water-based serums. |
| STEP 3 | Gently pat until absorbed, then seal with moisturiser. |
| When | PM only. Start 2 to 3 nights per week. SPF 50 the next morning is mandatory. |
Best Paired With: Follow every application with Ceramides & HA Moisturizer to replenish the barrier. For a full routine, the Retinol Anti Aging Skin Kit bundles cleanse, treat, and repair.
Avoid Combining With: Never use Retinol and Vitamin C in one routine - Vitamin C in the AM, this serum in the PM. Avoid AHAs, BHAs, and Benzoyl Peroxide the same night, as stacking actives over-strips the barrier.
| Timeframe | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Week 1-2 | Adjustment phase - possible mild dryness or flaking. Keep frequency low and moisturise. |
| Week 3-4 | Skin settles and texture looks smoother and more refined. |
| Week 8-12 | Fine lines visibly reduced and firmness improves as collagen rebuilds. |
| What Affects Results | Nightly consistency, gradual buildup, daily SPF 50, and starting skin condition. |
Simplist Retinol 0.5% Face Serum reduces fine lines and renews skin texture by speeding up cell turnover and stimulating collagen. Texture refines in 3 to 4 weeks, and fine lines visibly reduce by 8 to 12 weeks of consistent nightly use.
Start with 2 to 3 nights per week for the first 4 weeks, then increase gradually. Apply after cleansing at night and always follow with moisturiser. Some mild dryness at first is normal, and this slow buildup keeps the adjustment phase comfortable.
Not in the same routine. Use Vitamin C in the morning and this Retinol serum at night. Combining both in one routine increases irritation and reduces how well each active works, so keep them split across your AM and PM steps.
No, Retinol is not considered safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so avoid this serum throughout that whole time. It is also not suitable under age 18 or on broken skin. Ask your doctor for a pregnancy-safe alternative instead.
Yes, daily SPF 50 is mandatory with this serum. Retinol increases sun sensitivity, and with UV levels of 10+ in Pakistan from April to September, unprotected exposure undoes results and worsens irritation. Apply sunscreen every morning as the last step of your AM routine.
