Our Customers' Reviews

Kojic Acid 2% Face Serum is a leave-on pigmentation treatment formulated at the clinically supported 2% concentration - considered the safe and effective ceiling for daily topical use. Kojic Acid is a fungal-derived ingredient that inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production. By interrupting melanin synthesis at the source, it gradually fades stubborn dark spots, melasma, post-acne marks, and uneven skin tone over 6 to 12 weeks of consistent use. It is more targeted for pigmentation than Vitamin C, making it the preferred choice for established dark spots.

The formula is enhanced with Sepiwhite for multi-pathway melanin reduction and Vitamin E for antioxidant support, in a lightweight oil base. As an oil-based serum it is applied as the last serum step before moisturizer. Apply at night after cleansing with the Kojic Acid 2% Gel Cleanser and follow with the Kojic Acid 2% Face Cream. Explore the matched Kojic Acid range.

Key Benefits:

Fades Stubborn Pigmentation: Inhibits tyrosinase at the source to gradually lighten dark spots, melasma, and post-acne marks.

Multi-Pathway Brightening: Sepiwhite works through a different route than Kojic Acid for more complete tone correction.

Lightweight Oil Base: A non-greasy Squalane base delivers the active and supports the barrier without clogging pores.

This serum suits all skin types with a patch test, and is especially effective on deeply pigmented skin (Fitzpatrick III to V). It is the right choice for stubborn dark spots, melasma, post-acne marks, sun spots, and uneven skin tone.

It is best for established pigmentation that has not responded to Vitamin C alone, hormonal melasma, or dark patches built up over years of sun exposure. By blocking melanin at multiple points, it targets discoloration that surface treatments often miss.

If you are new to Kojic Acid, start 2 to 3 nights per week and build to nightly over 3 to 4 weeks. Suitable from 18 years and above. Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with known sensitivity to fermentation-derived ingredients, or on broken or compromised skin. The formula is free from fragrance, parabens, SLS, and alcohol.

STEP 1

Cleanse with the Kojic Acid 2% Gel Cleanser and pat skin dry.

STEP 2

Apply 3 to 4 drops of Kojic Acid 2% Face Serum to fingertips.

STEP 3

Gently press across the face and neck, focusing on areas with visible pigmentation. Avoid eyes and lips.

STEP 4

Wait 30 seconds for the serum to absorb. As an oil-based serum, apply it as your last serum step before moisturizer.

STEP 5

Follow with the Kojic Acid 2% Face Cream for sustained brightening through the night.

STEP 6

The next morning, finish with the SPF 50 Sunscreen. SPF is non-negotiable - sun exposure reverses Kojic Acid results.

When to Use: Night only. Kojic Acid is photosensitive and must not be used during the day.

Tip: For deep pigmentation and melasma, pair Kojic Acid at night with Vitamin C 10% Face Serum in the morning for multi-pathway correction - keep them in separate AM and PM routines. Always patch test before first use.

Key Ingredients:

Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E): Antioxidant that supports skin recovery and protects the serum from oxidation.
